Our Story

Crumble & Core was founded in 2016 by three friends — Lucy, Lou, and Jilly — who shared a passion for creating high-quality, art-based cards and gifts that are proudly British designed and made.

With a lifetime of experience as a talented watercolour artist, Jilly helped bring our creative vision to life.

We feel incredibly lucky to run our business from a beautiful Oast house on a working dairy farm in the stunning East Sussex countryside.

Our products are now sold in shops, tourist attractions, and places of historical interest across the UK and around the world.

Our Personal Favourites

Lou

Co-Founder Lou is a Mum of four gorgeous children and worked in the City for over 10 years, bringing invaluable Problems Solving, Project Management and Marketing and Product Development skills to the business. Lou’s favourite image is our Moon Bear on our Framed Ceramic Tile Print.

Jilly

Co-Founder and Artist, Jilly obviously brought her incredible Portfolio of paintings. She was taught to paint by her dad at the age of 10 and that ignited a long-life passion for watercolours.She went on to train at Art College in textiles and illustration and was a Published Freelance Artist for many years. Jilly’s favourite card is our Art Studio Card from our Classic Crumble Collection.

Lucy

Co-Founder and designer Lucy ran a successful Card & Gift shop, The Banana Tree in Eastbourne, for over 26 years. This gave her a wealth of knowledge into the gift trade industry. Lucy’s favourite products are our range of Bright Blooms Ceramic Keepsakes and Coasters.
